Hypatia published Volume 27 in 2012; this marks 30 years of continuous publication since Hypatia first appeared as a series of three special issues of International Women’s Studies Quarterly. Volume 27 was enlivened by a number of special features: a special issue and online symposium on Animal Others (edited by Lori Gruen and Kari Weil); a symposium on Falguni Sheth’s 2011 book, Toward a Political Philosophy of Race; a thematic cluster on the philosophy of Luce Irigaray, and a cluster and accompanying virtual issue on Embodiment edited by Linda Alcoff; and a virtual issue on The Place of Women in the Profession of Philosophy edited by Ann Cudd.
