We are delighted that Gillian Russell, Professor of Philosophy at the Australian National University, has won the 2024 Prize in Feminist Philosophy of Science for her paper ‘From Anti-Exceptionalism to Feminist Logic’, published in Hypatia: A Journal of Feminist Philosophy in 2024. This prize is awarded biennially by the Philosophy of Science Association (PSA) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Caucus for ‘the best book, article, or chapter published in English in the area of feminist philosophy of science within the five years prior to each PSA meeting’. Of Professor Russell’s paper, the PSA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Caucus writes:
‘This article grapples with the question of whether logic can be feminist. Along the way Russell provides an exceptional analysis of the various ways any science might be feminist, and considers whether logic, in particular, might count. This creative, insightful paper asks an altogether unexpected question, and answers it with a surprising “yes, sometimes”.’
We extend our congratulations to Professor Russell for this fantastic achievement, and invite everyone to engage with her prize-winning paper, freely available to read and download open-access in our 2024 Winter issue. https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/hypatia/article/from-antiexceptionalism-to-feminist-logic/8D2B4F711BEDD330C57EAD85829E6F54?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=bookmark
